Almost Over

Well 2011 is almost over and so many things have taken place this year.
Both in our lives and in our world.

As I look back over all that has happened I have to realize that it was all just the way the lord intended it to be and all according to his plan.

What will next tear hold for us all?

Lord willing we will all grow richer and stronger and healthier and all be blessed.

I look forward to seeing all of you in  2012, new things are coming here on Fiber and Flea Village. I am planning a give-away just as soon as my followers hit 50. So if you do not follow me, now is the time to start. I am also looking forward to learning new techniques to use here on my blog so watch for the times to be changing!

Christmas Eve Traditions

I am sure we all have traditions for christmas eve.

Now that my kids are grown and live away our traditions have changed greatly! But it is still important to have some and to make the day a great one.

First my hubby and I will have a light meal and then will go to the Christmas Eve service at church. After we get home we will sit with the tree and read the christmas story together. Then share a prayer of thankfulness for all that we have been blessed with, especially the birth of Jesus. And then we will probably enjoy a christmas movie and the lights on the tree.

I will have a breakfast ready to go into the oven in the morning and then we will share a gift or two.

So what are your traditions for the Christmas?

This vintage santa was mine when I was a child.
And the gingies are special gifts from and ornament exchange.

As I look at my tree and admire each ornament I always include their makers in a prayer. I believe that is called praying by association!!
So many ornaments equals so many friends!
I am truly blessed.

Merry Christmas to all my followers. May you each see and feel the blessings of Christmas.

No More Nekked Tree!!

As many of you know my christmas tree has been standing "nekked" in the corner for about a week.

With all that goes on this time of the year, it seems I did not have enough time in the days to get something on it.

But I did all I could to not stress over it. It would get done when it got done!!

I even threatened to throw a christmas quilt over it and call it complete. That is when my hubs took pity and decided to check all the lights and get them untangled. And while that was a big help, the tree was still "nekked"!

I have had a rush of orders here at the last minute for the holidays......and I am thankful for each one of them.......but orders had to come first and the tree was still "nekked"!

But at last I had (made) a few minutes and got the lights on the tree. That looked pretty good and kinda got me in the spirit. So I went and put on some carols and started adding ornaments. I still have 2 boxes of ornaments that are not on the tree but all the important ones are on there and it is so pretty. Besides hubs says there is no more room on the tree anyway!! What do men know!!

Remember that as much as we love the decorations and the festivities "Jesus is the real reason for the season".

Lots of my ornaments are from friends and I love sitting and looking at each one and remembering each one of you.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Whats In The Oven?

Well considering the time of year, most of you are probably baking cookies.

Or some of you might have fruit cakes baking.

Or a scrumptous pie of one sort or another.

But at my house for the last week this is what has been in baking in my oven almost 24
hours a day.

You see I really had no choice.

A neighbor was cutting down a Paper Birch and I wanted the wood to make rounds for one of my items I sell on Etsy.

Although the tree was dead, once you down it you must cut the rounds and get them dry in a slow and steady way, but if you allow them to air dry they will crack and look like "Pacman".

Paper Birch is a beautiful wood to work with I was so blessed to get it. So I had no choice but to deal with the wood until the task was completed.

If you would like to take a look at the item I make from them you can see it here: wooden love charm

Don't forget that all comments are welcome and as soon as I get 50 followers I am having a give away!! So please join me now!!

Are you feeling stressed?

Are there times when you get to moving in circles?

Maybe moving so fast you can't keep up with yourself?

Worrying about the holidays or perhaps family members or friends?

I think we all have those times.

We all have times when THINGS seem important.

Times when getting a big meal on the table is the last thing we want to consider.

Or the thought of wrapping ALL those presents makes you start to think seriously about gift bags!

Well you are not alone. We all do this from time to time.

And today must have been one of those days for me because the Lord sent me this to remind me to look up, and rely on him.

If you look really close you can see it is a double rainbow and at one time I could see the whole bottom rainbow.

It was beautiful and it reminded me I should be looking up to the father and not trying to do it all myself.

So I will be stopping more during this holiday season to focus on the real reason for the season.

And to put my trust in him.

So how about you?

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a day to give thanks for all that we have and remember that it all comes from the Lord.

I have many things in my life that is not perfect but I still spent much time today being thankful for my family and friends, my home and the bounty of food that the Lord provides, not just todays bounty.

We have so much and I am truly thankful.

I hope you shared the day with friends and family and remembered the important things.

Figured Out The Name

Not long ago I posted about my computer room buddy.
He was a hermit or tree crab. He needed a name and you guys commented and left me all kinds of suggestions. I wanted to say thank you they were all great! it was so interesting to read what you thought and see what you came up with.

But.......the grandson decided we had to name him "Crabby Mike". So Crabby Mike it is.

That is a great name for this guy because he is a real big one. I have 3 smaller ones too. His large claw is bigger than my thumb nail.

Remember I am having a give away when I reach 50 followers.
So now is the time to become a follower if you are not already.

Kielbasa Stew for dinner

Today was a chilly damp day and I needed something for dinner to warm the insides as well as fuel the body. So we ended up with Kielbasa Stew.

First I placed a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot, I then added a large chopped onion, medium chopped green pepper, 2 medium potatoes, 2 minced garlic cloves and 2 sliced hungarian wax peppers to the pot. I then sliced 3/4 a pound of turkey Kielbasa into coins and placed in the pot. This was followed by 2 cups of beef broth, a quart of canned tomatoes and a can of great northern beans. I seasoned this with 2 teaspoons of chili powder and coarse ground black pepper.

I baked cornbread and we had a delicious dinner. And my house smelled so good as well!!

This is one of those dinners that you can do your own thing. Like add something else or leave something out that someone in your family just won't touch! Make it like you want and call it your own creation!

                                                            Kielbasa Stew

I am glad you dropped in and please leave me a comment. They are alway enjoyed.

And don't forget, as soon as I get 50 followers I am going to have a give-a-way! So come on and join in the fun.

Ladies best friend

Do you have certain times that Chocolate is your best friend?

Times when you can't think of anything you really want to eat, except chocolate?

How about the only thing better than chocolate, is chocolate with nuts?

Or something made of moist chocolate and marshmallow?

Well, I got something I need to share with you.

I have a very complicated recipe that takes for ever to make and takes lots of ingredients

                                                                       to prepare.

But if you are like me these are not the kind of recipes that get made very often.

So I have taken this recipe and knocked the ingredients down, as well as the time it takes to

make and made it super easy and yummy.

Now listen up and I will walk you through it and I am only going to say this once!!

Take 2 boxes of brownie mix and mix according to directions for chewy brownies.

Pour onto a greased sheet pan with edges. Spread it evenly and bake according to directions.

10 minutes before they are set, remove from the oven and cover brownies with mini

marshmallows and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Return to oven and bake till brownies are set and mini's are melted and starting to brown slightly.

Now open a container of dark chocolate fudge frosting and spoon into an micro safe bowl.

Warm in 15 second intervals till melted (do not burn). After removing brownies from oven, take a large spoon and drizzle as much chocolate over the top as you want.

Here is what they look like when complete:

As you can see it makes a large pan which is perfect for company or to take to a tailgate or for the "girls night in" that you just might have to throw since you learned how to make these!!

By the way these are called, "Ooey Gooey Rich and Chewy Rocky Road Brownies"

I enjoy your comments and if you are not a follower, now is the time to start. I am having a give away when I get 50 followers so . ....Jump on board and get ready!!

A Strange Find in My Garden

While walking in the garden this morning.

I decided to take a few minutes to poke and peek around in the squash plants.

Being very careful as I was gently pulling leaves to the left and the right, I found several nice

                                                  yellow squash and zucchini.

But one of them I decided I just had to show you!

                                                     It is a mutation indeed!

The photo does not show it but this started out as 2 blooms with 2 stems and then became one.

That is what I found in my strange little world!

I always enjoy your comments and don't forget I am having a give away when my followers reach 50. So if you don't follow now is the time to start!!

Have a blessed day everyone.

Green Beans

Then preparing and filling jars.

And working thru canner after canner full of quart jars.

This is what I was blessed with.

21 quart of canned green beans to add to my shelves.

I also added 3 quarts of canned tomatoes today.

So if you don't already follow me I would love to have you as a groupie!  And please share this
