Swap Days

This weekend is going to be a fun one. April 11,12,13 at the Ross County Fairgrounds is the Southeast Ohio Poultry Association Spring Swap Days. Anything and everything is there and it is all for sale. From animals to antiques, old and new, this is the place to be. Even if you are low on funds with no money to spend you could not find a better place to walk and get your exercise, or just do some people watching.

Here are a few shots from swap meets past, just to give you an idea of what to expect.

The sun is just coming over the hilltop, and the lookers are all trying to find those deals before they are gone.

As I said there is a little bit of everything.

Looks like these duck are going to a new home.

And this burro just decided that the end of the line was right here!! No sir, not moving another step, so the fellow just sat down to wait till the mode strikes again.

This gentleman was proud to pose with his rooster.

Like I said you never know what you will see.

This fellow decided he was hot and when they came to the shade he just laid down and was not moving till he cooled off some.

So see lots of things to see and people to talk to so if you are in the neighborhood, stop in and see us this weekend in Chillicothe OH. at the Ross County Fair Grounds.

Windy Wednesday

I think we are all about over all the snow and cold weather.

And from the looks of things outside, so is Mother Nature!

It really does my spirit good to see this pretty sight again. How about you, are you getting some sprouting and flowering in your neck of the woods?

I was outside the other day spraying some of beds with a homemade weed killer and I just did not have the heart to spray these little beauties.

I remember making chains, necklaces and crowns with these when I was a little girl. I can't wait to have a grand-daughter to share all of these things with.

If you have not seen any of God's handiwork around your area yet, then at least it gives you a reason to get out for a walk and do some investigating. Let us know what you find!

Tasty Tuesday and Old Memories

Today is a day that I always share a recipe with you and I promise I will but first I want to share something else. When I was in Jr. High (yes I said Jr. High, not Middle School) I surely just dated myself, I had a wonderful friend and her father had a job that moved her away from where I lived. It got her closer to family (grand parents and such) but I really felt left behind. But we were determined to write often and stay in touch as best we could. And write often we did.......I have to admit here that I still have those boxes of letters in my attic!

Well I have something that she made for me for my 18th birthday and I use it everyday. I wanted to share it with you and to say that this small things bring such joy to my life.

It is a recipe box. Now I know that with computers and such out there today folks probably do not have these like back in the day, but I love mine. And since I am the type of person who prays by association, everytime I see this, guess who gets prayed for.

This is a shot of inside the lid and how she personalized it for me.

Now as you can see it is well used and stuffed full of recipes that I love to use and revisit the memories they bring. OMGoodness! I just did the math and I have had this for........(wait for it).....36 years!

Well that might be something that you never even wanted to know but I sure enjoyed sharing it with you!!

Now for a recipe that is kinda a family tradition for our families Easter table.

If you look at the name of this recipe you will know for certain when I attained it! It was given to me by a lady that I attended church with. She would make this and bring it to church functions and dinners and I ask her for the recipe as I was starting to fill my recipe box. Notice how she added her name to the upper right corner of the card. Guess who I just prayed for?

Feel Good Friday

I will have to admit that my "feel good" started on Thursday evening. I attended Zumba class with friends and had a great time burning off some calories. After class I joined a couple of ladies for an impromptu dinner at Chipotles. We had great food that was staying within my calories for the day. So that made me feel good.

The conversation was wonderful and relaxing. There was a peacefulness around us during dinner. Although it was pouring down the rain outside. We chatted for a while and then parted, going our separate ways for the evening.

But on Friday morning as the birds started to chirp their morning songs and I was still laying in bed I could already tell that today was going to be a different day. Today was going to be a day filled with energy and relaxing moments even though I was going to be busy all day long.

This is amazing to me that friendships can reward us in such astounding ways. So search out those amazing moments in your life and EXPECT to receive a blessing. He is good in so many ways.
