Almost Over

Well 2011 is almost over and so many things have taken place this year.
Both in our lives and in our world.

As I look back over all that has happened I have to realize that it was all just the way the lord intended it to be and all according to his plan.

What will next tear hold for us all?

Lord willing we will all grow richer and stronger and healthier and all be blessed.

I look forward to seeing all of you in  2012, new things are coming here on Fiber and Flea Village. I am planning a give-away just as soon as my followers hit 50. So if you do not follow me, now is the time to start. I am also looking forward to learning new techniques to use here on my blog so watch for the times to be changing!

Christmas Eve Traditions

I am sure we all have traditions for christmas eve.

Now that my kids are grown and live away our traditions have changed greatly! But it is still important to have some and to make the day a great one.

First my hubby and I will have a light meal and then will go to the Christmas Eve service at church. After we get home we will sit with the tree and read the christmas story together. Then share a prayer of thankfulness for all that we have been blessed with, especially the birth of Jesus. And then we will probably enjoy a christmas movie and the lights on the tree.

I will have a breakfast ready to go into the oven in the morning and then we will share a gift or two.

So what are your traditions for the Christmas?

This vintage santa was mine when I was a child.
And the gingies are special gifts from and ornament exchange.

As I look at my tree and admire each ornament I always include their makers in a prayer. I believe that is called praying by association!!
So many ornaments equals so many friends!
I am truly blessed.

Merry Christmas to all my followers. May you each see and feel the blessings of Christmas.

No More Nekked Tree!!

As many of you know my christmas tree has been standing "nekked" in the corner for about a week.

With all that goes on this time of the year, it seems I did not have enough time in the days to get something on it.

But I did all I could to not stress over it. It would get done when it got done!!

I even threatened to throw a christmas quilt over it and call it complete. That is when my hubs took pity and decided to check all the lights and get them untangled. And while that was a big help, the tree was still "nekked"!

I have had a rush of orders here at the last minute for the holidays......and I am thankful for each one of them.......but orders had to come first and the tree was still "nekked"!

But at last I had (made) a few minutes and got the lights on the tree. That looked pretty good and kinda got me in the spirit. So I went and put on some carols and started adding ornaments. I still have 2 boxes of ornaments that are not on the tree but all the important ones are on there and it is so pretty. Besides hubs says there is no more room on the tree anyway!! What do men know!!

Remember that as much as we love the decorations and the festivities "Jesus is the real reason for the season".

Lots of my ornaments are from friends and I love sitting and looking at each one and remembering each one of you.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Whats In The Oven?

Well considering the time of year, most of you are probably baking cookies.

Or some of you might have fruit cakes baking.

Or a scrumptous pie of one sort or another.

But at my house for the last week this is what has been in baking in my oven almost 24
hours a day.

You see I really had no choice.

A neighbor was cutting down a Paper Birch and I wanted the wood to make rounds for one of my items I sell on Etsy.

Although the tree was dead, once you down it you must cut the rounds and get them dry in a slow and steady way, but if you allow them to air dry they will crack and look like "Pacman".

Paper Birch is a beautiful wood to work with I was so blessed to get it. So I had no choice but to deal with the wood until the task was completed.

If you would like to take a look at the item I make from them you can see it here: wooden love charm
